I should have featured this glaze in November, because it really does make me think of Mom’s house the week of Thanksgiving, when she gets out all the silver and we sit down to make it shine.
I love how this glaze’s surface varies from the light silvery shades through the darker more tarnished looking areas and into slight hints of silvery metal. Textured surfaces seem to intensify this feature. Different reduction materials can also greatly affect the amount of “tarnish”. This glaze would pair nicely with a flashier metallic glaze or a brightly colored red or blue-green glaze.
